VA Officials Skirt Congressional Hearing Legion National Commander blasts lack of transparency, accountability WASHINGTON (October 21, 2015) – Already deeply concerned about a recent Inspector General's report that found senior VA officials misused relocation funds, American Legion National Commander Dale Barnett  expressed disappointment that VA witnesses declined to appear before a congressional committee this morning to explain their actions. "This is not some partisan issue between Congress and the Veterans Benefits Administration," Barnett said. "It is about providing answers to the serious charges of the IG that the directors of the Philadelphia and St. Paul. Minn., VA Regional Offices (VAROs) inappropriately used their positions of authority for personal and financial benefit. Veterans deserve answers. LANSING, Mich. – More than 30,000 veterans in the Upper Peninsula will have easier access to comprehensive health, employment, education and quality-of-life opportunities thanks to a collaboration that brings together local, state and federal resources and services.
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is expanding its Veterans Community Action Team program to veterans and their families living in Michigan's Prosperity Region 1, which includes all of the U.P.'s 15 counties.

As we pull our Fall and Winter clothes out of storage and start to enjoy hot coffee a little more, the Michigan Warriors are excited about one thing, hockey!  Come join us in the excitement as we test our skills and square off against the Detroit Red Wings Alumni team.  

Doors open up at 5:15pm. Teams will take the ice at 5:45pm.

October 2015 MSP Hosts Women's Recruiting Seminar
The Michigan State Police (MSP) is hosting an informational recruiting seminar for women at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Kalamazoo Valley Community College located at 6767 W. O Ave., Kalamazoo, Mich. The free seminar will acquaint interested candidates with the career opportunities available with the MSP. Female troopers will provide insight on recruit training, the lifestyle of a trooper and opportunities for women in law enforcement. Information on the selection and hiring process will be offered, as well as one-on-one conversations with enlisted females.  Space is limited. To attend, email Sgt.
