Did you enjoy the last "Motor City Casino Trip"?  Didn't go?  Well, there's another one scheduled. Mark your calendar for FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10 . That's when the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 382 will be journeying again to the Motor City Casino. The cost is only $35 and includes motor coach transportation, a $30 casino voucher, bus driver gratuity, and a harvest dinner at the Legion hall upon return. You can't beat that anywhere! Transportation will be by Preferred Charter Motor Coaches and will depart from the Legion Post hall located at 1322 Clinton Avenue in St. Clair. We will use three buses - one departing at 9:00 am, another at 9:30 am and the third at 10:00 am. All three buses will return by 5:00 pm. Helm was elected national commander of the 2.4 million-member American Legion on Aug. 28, 2014 in Charlotte, N.C., during the 96th national convention of the nation’s largest veterans organization.         A U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War, he served with the 82 nd  Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C., and earned his Ranger tab in 1972. He has been a member of Jack Helt American Legion Post 313 at Lebanon, Neb., since 1972.  Born in McCook, Neb., he grew up in Norcatur, Kansas, where he currently resides. He is a retired U.S. Postal Service rural mail carrier with more than 33 years of service.         Helm served as commander of the Department of Nebraska from 1987 to 1988 and as a national vice commander from 2003 to 2004. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   American Legion honors Oliver North with National PR Award   CHARLOTTE (Aug. 26, 2014) – The nation's largest wartime veterans service organization honored Lt. Col. Oliver L.
