If your group has an event benefiting veterans, or you hear of an event, please share with me so I can share with the veteran community.?? I would rather get an event 3 times than not at all!?? Please make sure any flyer lists address of event and a contact person!

ANNOUNCEMENTS!

"Free Home Repairs for Low Income Vets" Rebuilding Oakland has grant money available to make repairs to the homes of low income vets, at no charge. Restrictions do apply. For more info about Rebuilding Oakland county see their Overview. Click on application to have your house repaired. This funding expires on March 15th, so don't delay.

"Free (or discounted) Tickets to Local Events" Vet Tickets offers free, or discounted, tickets to sporting events, concerts, etc. Visit their website to sign up and view events.

"Thursday, February 22, 2018 " The Canton Community Foundation is hosting a veterans job fair at Madonna University, 36600 Schoolcraft, Livonia, from 10 till 2PM. See flyer for info.

"Thursday, February 22, 2018 " Soldiers' Angels is hosting another free food for vets mobile pantry from Noon till 2PM at the American Legion Post 375, 19486 Sherwood, Detroit. You must register in advance at 210-629-0020. See flyer for more info.

"Saturday, February 24, 2018" The Fallen & Wounded Soldier Fund is hosting its 13th annual Dinner, Dance, Auction, at the MGM Grand in Detroit starting at 4PM, with program starting at 6PM. Noted speaker will be former House Representative Mike Rogers. For complete info call 248-417-6984 or see flyer.

"Sunday, February 25, 2018 " The MI Military Technical & Historical Society is hosting another in their free lecture series on the Detroit area during the war at their location at 16600 Stephens, Eastpointe, starting at 2PM. Dennis Skupinski will share tales from the home front during WW 1. Admission by donation. See flyer for more info.

"Wednesday, March 7, 2018" Southfield VFW Post 2645 will be holding its' monthly Spaghetti Dinner, and social, at 24222 W Nine Mile, Southfield from 5 till 7PM. Cost is $7 and includes a single meal, salad, & desert. A second helping of spaghetti is included. For more info see flyer.

"Saturday, March 3, 2018 (NEW) " Dexter High School, 2200 N Parker Rd, Dexter, is hosting an Army vs. Navy Wheelchair basket ball game, starting at 2PM. All proceeds will go to the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital through the Holder of the Year Foundation. The Mortell Holder of the Year award was given to University of Michigan football player Garrett Moores (after his 2016 season). The recipients of this award use it to promote charities and strengthen their local communities. Garrett chose to support Veterans at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor (a place where U of M football players often visit). The funds will be used for a wide variety of services provided by the VA, including: the Psychiatry Service Fund, Women Veterans, Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM) Program, Holiday Fund, Health Care for Homeless Vets, Adaptive Blind Sports/VIST, and many more. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids, seniors, & students. See flyer for more info.

"Saturday, March 10, 2018" Vets Returning Home is hosting its 4th annual Dinner Fundraiser at Royalty House Banquet Hall, 8201 E 13 Mile, Warren, from 6 till 10PM. Master of Ceremonies is Eli Zaret. "Saturday, March 10, 2018" VFW Post 7573 -COVE 35011 23 Mile Rd. New Baltimore, Phone 586-725-7100, is hosting an ANNUAL HARD TIMES PARTY. $30.00 PER PERSON INCLUDES; DINNER, OPEN BAR, SNACKS AND PRIZES DOORS OPEN @ 6:00 DINNER @ 7 PRIZES FOR THE BEST COSTUMES PROCEEDS TO HELP SUPPORT VETERANS PROGRAMS.
