ANNOUNCEMENTS!

"Free Legal Services" The Legal Aid & Defender Association, Inc., is hosting numerous (17 to be exact) free legal clinics (priority for vets) in both Oakland & Macomb counties for the next 6 months, all starting at 10AM. "More Free Legal Services!" The Wayne County Friend of the Court is hosting outreach asssitance where you can discuss your FOC issues. There are numerous locations for the next couple of months so see flyer for times and places where you can get your issues resolved.

"VA Golden Age Games coming to Detroit (IMPORTANT)" The VA Golden Age Games are coming to Detroit in July 2016 & volunteers are still needed!. This will be open to all veterans that are enrolled in the VA Health System. To get a sneak peek see early flyer or visit their new website to volunteer or participate!

"Thursday, July 9, 2016" The Desert Angels are hosting another in their series of Packing Parties for the troops. Remember, postage alone for a single package overseas can be as high as $16 so even if you can't help pack you can always drop off a few dollars toward the shipping. Today's event is: The Oakland County Sportsman Club, 4770 Waterford Rd, Clarkston, from 4 till 6PM.

"Friday, June 10, 2016" The Guiding Star Foundation, a group that works with veterans with TBI/PTSD, is hosting their 3rd annual Golf Outing at The Captain's Club of Woodfield, 10200 Woodfield Dr, Grand Blanc, with a 7AM registration and an 8:30 shotgun start. Fee is $125 per golfer. To see what is included, form, and info, see flyer.

"Friday, June 10, 2016 (NEW)" The Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society will be hosting their 5th annual Cruise In at the museum, 16600 Stephens Rd, Eastpointe, from 4 till 8PM. Registration from 3 till 6PM. This is a free event but donations toward the museum are requested. For more info call 586-872-2581 or see flyer.

"Saturday, June 11, 2016" Camp Liberty is hosting its 10th annual Tips-Up for Troops at Kensington Metropark, Milford, MI, from 6AM till 4PM. Who can come: Everyone is invited to the fun and games like the Corn Hole tournament, Family Fun Walk, Classic Car Show, and the Eisenhower Center "All American BBQ." The Bass Tournament is open only to all Veterans and Pro anglers (boaters) who are also encouraged to bring family members to enjoy the day's festivities. About the Tips-Up for Troops event: Recognized by the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, Tips-Up for Troops has hosted over 300 combat Veterans and 2,000 other guests over the years. All proceeds this year go to benefit Camp Liberty and the Michigan Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America Veteran Program. Where the Dollars Go: They stay right here in Michigan; No other program in the nation can match Camp Liberty's complete recreation and reintegration programs backed with PTSD and TBI rehabilitation through the Eisenhower Center's "After the Impact" programs. "Saturday, June 11, 2016" The Ruck March, to help with the Stop 22 program (ending veteran suicide) will take place rain or shine starting at 10AM at Dave's Pizza Buffet, 50670 Waterside Drive, Chesterfield. See flyer for dress guidelines and items to bring.

"Saturday, June 18, 2016" The Fallen & Wounded Soldier Fund is hosting Operation: Stop 22, 3D Archery Shoot. This will take place at the Michee Archery Club, Midland, starting at 8AM till 5:30PM. For complete information see flyer.

"Sunday, June 19, 2016" The Great Lakes Stampede, 22nd annual All Ford & Mustang Car Show, will take place at Nexteer Automotive, 3900 E Holland Rd, Saginaw, from 8:30AM till 5PM to benefit the Fallen & Wounded Soldiers Fund. "Sunday, June 19, 2016" The Montford Point Marines is holding their annual Heritage Banquet at the Shriner's Silver Garden Events Center, 24350 Southfield Rd, Southfield, from 6 till 9PM. "Monday, June 20, 2016" Everyone is invited to the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting ceremony of the Holly Veteran Resource Center, 300 E Street, Holly, at 7PM. for more information see flyer.
