"Purse Drive for the Women of Haven" American Legion Aux, 18th District, is collecting purses, wallets, etc., for the women that are housed at Haven in Oakland County. Haven takes care of battered/abused/homeless women. They are also collecting toiletry items. For more info call Sandra at 313-506-1550 or see flyer.
"Free Legal Services" The Legal Aid & Defender Association, Inc., is hosting numerous (17 to be exact) free legal clinics (priority for vets) in both Oakland & Macomb counties for the next 6 months, all starting at 10AM. "VA Golden Age Games coming to Detroit" The VA Golden Age Games are coming to Detroit in July 2016. This will be open to all veterans that are enrolled in the VA Health System. To get a sneak peek see early flyer or visit their new website!
"Buddy-2-Buddy February Job Fairs" Once again this list is not B2B fairs, they simply gather the information to send to everyone.
"Vietnam Veterans 50th Anniversary Video" The Vietnam 50 Anniversary Commission has released a video about Vietnam and those that served. This video can be seen here.

"Thursday, February 11, 2016 " The Desert Angels are hosting another in their series of packing parties to ship packages to troops overseas. This event will be at Oakland County Sportsman Club, 4770 Waterford Rd, Clarkston, from 4 till 6PM.. See their website for items needed.
"Saturday, February 13, 2016" Holly Legion Post 149 is hosting a Valentine's Concert Dance at the Karl Richer Community Center, 300 E St, Holly, from 7 till 9PM with the Jump Street Swing Band. Cost is $15 or $25 per couple. For more info call Ray at 248-882-1406 or see flyer.
"Sunday, February 14, 2016" Patriot Hockey has teamed up with the Detroit Red Wings to offer discount Red Wing tickets (tonight's game is against the Boston Bruins) with $10 of every ticket sold helping out the Fallen & Wounded Solider Fund, a local group in the Detroit area. There are 7 different games thru April that you can get this discount. All games at the Joe starting at 7:30. "Saturday, February 20, 2016" Camp Liberty's Renaissance theme Crusader Gala held at Laurel Manor, Livonia, MI, Saturday, February 20th, 2016, from 5 to 8PM. Camp Liberty an All-Volunteer, 501-c-3 program helps our injured and disabled Veterans. Veteran/Service Member guests receive a free $25 raffle ticket packet; Early Bird registrants are entered for a his or her $600 Glock Pistol package. "Saturday, February 20, 2016" Boat4Vets is hosting a Thank You Vet bowling night at Colony Bowl, 4962 Pointe Tremble Rd, Algonac, from 6 till 9PM. $25 includes bowling, door prize tickets, mystery games, rental shoes, & ball. For more info call 586-716-9254 or see flyer.

"Sunday, February 21, 2016" The Montford Point Marine Detachment #158 is hosting their annual dinner celebrating the history of African Americans Service in the US Marine Corps. (LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed.
