IRS Scams & Tax-Related ID Theft

March is a peek month for IRS tax scams.  The attached alert provides tips on how to avoid common scams currently targeting Michigan consumers and what to do if the IRS notifies you, after you file your taxes, that a return has already been filed in your name.  "IRS Scams & Tax-Related Theft" is also available on the Attorney General's website under "Consumer Alerts."

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed.
