"Free Legal Services" The Legal Aid & Defender Association, Inc., is hosting numerous (17 to be exact) free legal clinics (priority for vets) in both Oakland & Macomb counties for the next 6 months, all starting at 10AM. "More Free Legal Services!" The Wayne County Friend of the Court is hosting outreach assistance where you can discuss your FOC issues. There are numerous locations for the next couple of months so see flyer for times and places where you can get your issues resolved.
"Help support Buddy-2-Buddy (IMPORTANT)" The Buddy-to-Buddy Volunteer Veteran Program needs your help to keep this critical program in place in order to continue to support thousands of Michigan veterans and service members. Visit www.friends.umich.edu/buddy-to-buddy and help support Buddy-to-Buddy in its goal to generate the funding that enables the program and its volunteers to help Michigan's service members and veterans.
"Peace of Mind for us older vets!" As we all get older we need to start thinking about our medical records, a living will, a regular will, funeral expenses, etc. The State Bar of Michigan has put together a terrific booklet covering these topics with forms you can fill out at home to cover a simple will, living will, etc. Take a look to see if you should do any of this!
"Buddy-2-Buddy Job Fairs for July" This is the latest list complied by the Buddy-2-Buddy network. They do not host, just complle the list.

EVENTS!
"Thursday, July 14, 2016" The Desert Angels are hosting another in their series of Packing Parties for the troops. Remember, postage alone for a single package overseas can be as high as $16 so even if you can't help pack you can always drop off a few dollars toward the shipping. Todays event is: The Oakland County Sportsman Club, 4770 Waterford Rd, Clarkston, from 4 till 6PM.
"Friday, July 15, 2016" The US Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair at Comerica Park, Detroit, from 9AM till 2PM. For more information see flyer. To register to attend visit their website.
"Thursday, July 21, 2016" Vet Biz Central , part of the National Veteran Business Development Council, is hosting a Meet & Mingle for Veteran Business owners at the Federal Reserve Bank, 1600 E Warren, Detroit from 8AM till 2PM. Cost is $22 per person and you must register in advance at their website. For more info call 313-446-6885.
"Saturday, July 23, 2016" Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 is hosting its annual Golf Outing at Fernhill Golf Course, 17600 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Twp, with an 8AM registration, 9AM shotgun start. Cost is $80 per golfer which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, continental breakfast (which continent not specified), lunch, etc. For more info contact Debbie at 586-3-5031 or see flyer.
"Saturday, July 23, 2016" Randy Wise BuidckGMC, located at 2530 Owen Rd, Fenton, is hosting a Charity Car & Bike Show to support the Fallen & Wounded Soldier Fund., from 9AM till 3PM. For complete information see flyer.
"Saturday, July 23, 2016" Hulet-Bravender VFW Post in Holly is hosting a Pig Roast to honor all the veteran groups that supply Honor Guards at the Holly National Cemetery. "Saturday, July 23, 2016" Boats4Vets is hosting its annual free boat ride for all veterans off of the Idle Hour Yacht Club on Harsens Island at 9AM. You must RSVP by 7/18 at 810-512-4660. Free boat ride, BBQ dinner, etc. For more info see flyer.

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed. Veterans and current service members in the Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties now have more opportunities to file their claim or ask questions. Centrally located in the tri-county area at 212 N.
