ANNOUNCEMENTS!

"Metro Airport Freedom Center Needs Volunteers" Freedom Center military lounge at Detroit Metro Airport is looking for 50 - 75 new volunteers. The new volunteers will primarily staff the Freedom Center facility that will be opening at the North Terminal before the end of the year, however we also still need a few volunteers to work at the flagship Freedom Center at the McNamara Terminal. Volunteer duties include (but are not limited to), greeting guests, general light cleaning, stocking of snacks and beverages, logging donations, and assisting guests with questions and needs. "Friday, July 10, 2015" The Detroit VA Hospital Legal Center, along with Neighborhood Legal Services of Michigan, is hosting assistance for homeless veterans legal clinic at the Hospital, 4646 John R, Detroit, from 9AM till Noon. Covered with be child support, expungements, tickets, etc. You must reserve your spot by calling 313-576-1000, ext 65537. See flyer for more details.

"Saturday, July 11, 2015" CTK Veterans Ministry along with Vietnam Veterans of America Post 133 is honoring all veterans, and their families, with their annual Veterans Recognition BBQ/Picnic, at Christ the King Church, 1550 W Drahner Rd, Oxford, from 11AM till 3PM. Enjoy the free food, and the Michigan Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall, DJ Greg, Karaoke, Line Dancing, etc. See flyer for more info.

"Thursday, July 16, 2015" The Dove Fund, which builds schools, hospitals, etc., in Vietnam, mostly with Vietnam Veterans, is hosting their annual Twylite wine tasting from 5 to 9PM at the Pinnacle, 1772 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee. This event is open to the public with tickets sold at the door. For more info see the attached flyer.

"Thursday & Friday, July 16 & 17, 2015" The Michigan Veterans Foundation is hosting a 2 day Stand Down for homeless veterans. Thursday for men, Friday for women. "Saturday, July 18, 2015" The Holly Great Lakes National Cemetery is hosting a special service commemorating the 50th anniversary of the start of the Viet Nam war, starting at 10AM with a noon luncheon at the Holly VFW Post 5587, 201 Airport Rd, Holly. "Wednesday, July 22, 2015" Tonight will be Veterans Night at Comerica Park, starting at 7:08PM versus the Seattle Mariners. All veterans can purchase lower level baseline box seats for a discount price. For lots more information contact Carolyn at 313-471-2245 or see flyer.
