MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

"Buddy-2-Buddy Job Fairs" See attached for a complete listing of the B2B job fairs in Michigan for the month of May.

"Founding of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA)" A film documentary about the founding of the VVA is being finished up and will soon be released on a DVD. Cost of the DVD will be $15 each, less if ordered in quanties. A trailer for the movie can be seen at their official website. For pre-release ordering see flyer.

EVENTS!

"Wednesday thru Monday, May 20 thru 25, 2015 (UPDATE)" The Wall that Heals will be in Clinton Township Civic Center for six days. A number of events are planned. Volunteers are needed to help guard the wall. For complete information see the offical website. Updated info: Pat Daniels is looking for riders to escort the wall to city hall. "Thursday, May 21, 2015" Oakland Community College Student Veterans Association (SVA) is hosting a fund raiser Volleyball Game and is looking for players. Admission to the game will be free. The game will take place at VFW 1370, 800 Cesar Chavez Dr, Pontiac, starting at 5PM. See flyer on how to get your team in and for other information.

"Monday, May 25, 2015" The City of Franklin invites all to Historic Franklin Cemetery, Franklin Rd between 13 & 14 Mile at 11AM, for a special tribute to all veterans, but especially to the 255 buried at the cemetery. For more info see flyer.

"Monday, May 25, 2015" The City of Royal Oak is already gearing up for their annual Memorial Day Parade and they are looking for groups to participate. See attached form to join the parade!

"Monday, May 25, 2015" Detroit Tiger Justin Verlander's Wins for Warriors, along with Opportunity Detroit, is hosting a 9K run to support the Wins for Warriors program, at Comerica Park. For complete information see their website, or attached flyer.

"Thursday, May 28, 2015" Oakland County Veteran Services will be at the Southfield Public Library, 26300 Evergreen, Southfield, from 10AM till 2PM to assist Oakland County veterans in filing a claim with the VA. This will be by appointment only! For more information or to schedule an appointment contact the Oakland County Veterans Service office at 248-858-0785 or see attached flyer.

"Tuesday, June 2, 2015" Detroit Goodwill Industries is hosting their Operation Good Jobs Career Fair at their HQ located at 3111 Grand River, Detroit, from 9AM till 1PM. Bring your resume! For more info call them at 313-557-8607 or see flyer.

"Wednesday, June 3, 2015 (NEW)" The Yankee Air Museum is hosting another in their history series, in the General Purpose Room Willow Run Airport, stating at 7:30PM. This month's speaker will be discussing the history of Willow Run during World War II. Admission is free.

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed. Veterans and current service members in the Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties now have more opportunities to file their claim or ask questions. Centrally located in the tri-county area at 212 N.
