American Legion National Commander Michael D. Helm comments on former Phoenix VAMC Director keeping her bonus


"Sharon Helman is apparently a person without shame," said Michael D. Helm, national commander of The American Legion. "She presided over a scandalous system in Phoenix, linked to the deaths of many patients, yet she fought to recover a bonus that never should have been hers in the first place. Instead of chasing after money, Helman ought to be chasing down every family who lost loved ones on her watch – and apologizing to them for her dereliction of duty."

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed. Veterans and current service members in the Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties now have more opportunities to file their claim or ask questions. Centrally located in the tri-county area at 212 N.
