DETROIT- Livingston International, a leading North American customs broker and trade compliance company, is launching an initiative to hire more military veterans in its U.S. offices.

Noting that their military service provides veterans with valuable skills such as adaptability, mission-focus and a strong work ethic, Livingston announces its commitment to veterans at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's "Hiring our Heroes" job fair on Saturday, February 7 at the John A. Dingell VA Medical Center.

"We are proud to sponsor the 'Hiring our Heroes' job fair, and provide employment opportunities for veterans through our new hiring initiative," said Matt Goodman, President, Global Trade Management. "At Livingston we recognize the contributions and sacrifice that veterans have made on behalf of our country. Our goal for this initiative is to support them as they transition out of military service and into civilian life."

Goodman, who served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. National Guard, said the job opportunities provided by Livingston not only help veterans transition into a promising civilian career, but also benefit Livingston by adding more veterans to the company's roster of employees dedicated to providing the best possible service to their clients.

"Military veterans demonstrate a passion for service and the ability to adapt on the fly. Their experience and training provides them with skills that set them up for success.  As a growing company, we're excited to offer the opportunities that will benefit both veterans and our business," said Steve Preston, CEO of Livingston International. "We look forward to welcoming more veterans to the Livingston team."
