ANNOUNCEMENTS!

"Red Cross Items for Veterans" The SE Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross has several programs to assist veterans, and their families, with free programs & grants. See the associated flyer for each to get the full details. (1) Certified Nurse Assistant Training. (2) Boots to Business. (3) Emergency Financial Assistance. For questions regarding any of these programs contact Anne at 313-576-4126.

"Vets to AG" This Friday (5/2) we will host a recruiting event for the "Vets to Ag" training program with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Veteran Services. This event will take place at our Conner location (5555 Connor, Detroit) and will begin at 11:00 a.m. Please see the attached flyer for additional details. Also, please complete and send the attached partner referral ticket directly to me via email prior to the event to ensure a smooth process for our veterans. "Thursday, May 1, 2014" Livonia New Horizons is hosting a Veteran Career Night at their office, located at 14115 Farmington Rd, Livonia, from 5:30 to 7PM. Vet Representatives, local business recuiters, etc., will be on hand. See attached to reserve a spot and for more information.

"Saturday, May 3, 2014" Madison Hgts VFW Post 9507 Ladies Aux will be hosting their 5th annual Mexican Fiesta from 4 to 8PM at the post, 630 E 11 Mile, Madison Hgts. Cost is $8 per person and will receive tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, salsas, etc. See flyer for complete details.

"Saturday, May 3, 2014" UAW Local 400 is hosting a Bowling Fund-raiser for the Romeo VFW Post at Summit Lanes, 66600 Van Dyke, Romeo, from 6PM on. $25 per player which includes shoe rental, pizza, and 3 hours of bowling. Call Erin at 586-634-3649 or see flyer for more details.

"Saturday, May 3, 2014" Dearborn American Legion Post 364 is hosting a Kentucky Derby Southern Fare & Mint Juleps BBQ at their post, located at 3001 S Telegraph, Dearborn, from 4 till 8PM. See flyer for more info.

"Saturday, May 3, 2014" Rochester American Legion Post 172 is hosting a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for Operation Yellow Ribbon and Liberty's Legacy. Event will take place at their post located at 234 Walnut Blvd, Rochester, from 5 to 8 PM. Cost is $10 adults, $5 for children 12 & under. "Sunday, May 4, 2014 (NEW)" Wyandotte Legion Riders at Legion Post 217 is hosting a Cinco De Mayo Dinner, 2817 Van Alstyne, Wyandotte, starting at 5PM. Cost is $8 and includes two entrees, desert, etc.

"Wednesday, May 7, 2014" The Yankee Air Museum will present Dennis Norton who will discuss the history of the Yankee Air Museum, starting at 7:30PM in the General Purpose Room of the Museum. This is a free event to the public.
