"Harley Davidson Raffle" V.V.A. Chapter 154 is raffling off a 2014 Harley Davidson Road King C V O. Tickets are $20 with the drawing on June 29th at the "Ride For Freedom." Tickets are available at the veterans support center, 16945 12 Mile, in Roseville, or at Wolverine Harley Davidson in Mt. Clemens

"The Mission Continues" The missioncontinues.org will be setting up a service platoon dedicated to performing four large scale service projects through the course of 2014 here in Michigan with the first launch day on April 2014. If you would like to be apart of joining up for some service work or have a project that you could use assistance on please email Robert Rietze at rjrietze@oakland.edu

EVENTS

"Saturday, January 25, 2014" Highland VFW 9914 Men's auxiliary is hosting an Ice Fishing Rournament with a 7AM check in at their post, located at 3200 Duck Lake Rd, Highland. Cost is $25 per adult, children with an adult are free. Weigh in at 4PM. See flyer for more information.

"Saturday, January 25, 2014" St Clair Shores VFW Post 1146 is hosting a Piquette Square Honor Guard fund raiser event at their post, 28404 Jefferson, St Clair Shores, with doors opening at 6:30PM. This will be a Motown Revue. Tickets are $20 or 2/$35 with a cash bar. Contact Tim at 586-713-1519 or see flyer for more info.

"Monday, January 27, 2014" Oakland County Parks is offering Disabled Veterans a discount to learn archery at the Rising Phoenix Archery Center, 3863 Rochester Rd, Troy, from 7 to 8:30PM. This 5 week course, each at the same time on Mondays thru February 24th, will focus on learning archery. Cost is $35 for the complete course (normally $75). See flyer for enrollment information.

"Tuesday, January 28, 2014" SE Michigan American Red Cross is holding a workshop for all military members, veterans, and their families. From 1PM till 3PM this workshop will be on Transitional Leadership. For more information, location, or to register contact Anne Parks at 313-833-3854, or see flyer.

"Wednesday, January 29, 2014" The Detroit VA Healthcare System, John R, Detroit, will host a Veterans Networking Fair on January 29, 2014, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 pm, as part of our follow-up to last summer's Mental Health Summit. The VA will provide information regarding services available to Veterans, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Community providers are invited to share information regarding their services, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. For our community providers, if you are interested in reserving a table at the Veterans Networking Fair, please click on the tab below. Please be aware that we are limited to 46 tables, so register early to secure your spot. Reservations will close on January 24, 2014, or when capacity is reached. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Benn-Burton at (313) 576-1000, extension 63437, or myself at (313) 576-1000, extension 64201.
