HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

"4th Annual Cold Weather Clothing Drive" The Wayne State University Student Veterans Organization is looking for winter clothing for our less fortunate veterans, and their familes. You can drop off at the SVA office at Wayne or they will pick them up. For complete details on how to help see attached flyer. NOTE: Flyer states by November 20th but they are still taking donations!.

"Sunday, December 1, 2013" (NEW) New Baltimore VFW Post 7573 is hosting a Breakfast with Santa at their post, located at 35011 23 Mile, New Baltimore, from 8AM till Noon. Omelets & eggs to order, french toast, & more. Cost is $4 for adults, $2 for kids under 10. See attached.

"Tuesday, December 3, 2013" The Friends of the Dearborn Library are hosting an evening with John Craven, author, Vietnam Veteran, and founder of the DOVE fund to help improve living conditions in the poorest areas of Vietnam. The presentation will take place at the Henry Ford Centennial Library auditorium, 16301 Michigan, Dearborn, starting at 7PM. This is a free event. "Wednesday, December 4, 2013" 21st Century Oncology is hosting a free dinner and lecture on Prostate health, advancements in Prostate Cancer, and treatment options, with discussions on how to navigate the VA system for non-VA care. This will be held at UnaSource Health Center, 4550 Investment Dr, St 100, Troy. See attached to register to attend this lecture.

"Wednesday, December 4, 2013" The Yankee Air Museum is having a showing of the Oral History Project video of Charlie McClain, Pear Harbor survivor, starting at 7:30PM in the general purpose room at the Museum at Willow Run airport. This is a free event.

November 29th, Friday 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – VFW 1370 Pontiac – "Burger's- $4 w/ fries $5, Devil Dog- $3 w/ fries $4; bacon wrapped "Koegel" hot dog, beans, fresco cheese, and all the fixings including devil sauce, Steak Burrito - $4; steak, rice, bean, pico de gallo, and cheese - 2 pounder! $6, Boot Camp Burrito Challenge - 3 pound version of the regular steak burrito, loaded in devil sauce and extremely spicy.  1 out of 3 contestants have been able to complete the Ghost Chili Burrito challenge so far, the first to do it was a fellow U.S. Marine, Tom LaForge.  $12 or free if you complete the challenge within 45 minutes.   This is an open challenge, so any member or guest is welcome to try.  WARNING: it is extremely spicy.  To get a good look at the difficulty feel free to pull it up on YouTube under VFW 1370 1st Annual Boot camp Burrito Challenge."  VFW 1370 is located at 791 Mae Court in Pontiac 48340.  Phone (248) 858-9501.

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed. Veterans and current service members in the Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties now have more opportunities to file their claim or ask questions. Centrally located in the tri-county area at 212 N.
