Northville Legionnaire Receives 2012 State Legionnaire of the Year Award

KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN, June 28, 2012 --  At the 94th State Convention held in Kalamazoo this past weekend, State Commander Richard Chatman presented Beverly Jo List of Northville the 2012 Legionnaire of the Year Award. 

Her daily life epitomizes the intent of the Four Pillars of the American Legion. Whether the call to action is for troop support, veterans’ service, membership, youth programs, national security, or patriotism, The American Legion, Department of Michigan, and her community can always rely on her selfless, humble response.

Beverly Jo List is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and current life member of American Legion Post 147 in Northville.  She is the executive assistant for the CEO of Rock Companies, part of the Quicken Loans family of businesses.  She has served as a service officer at a Post and District level; assisting veterans receive the benefits they have earned from the VA, for many years.

The American Legion Department of Michigan represents over 70,000 veterans in the State of Michigan. The American Legion was founded in 1919, based on “The Four Pillars”; veteran rehabilitation, Americanism, child welfare, and national security and continued above all its mission as an advocate for veterans.
