The 94th American Legion Department of Michigan Annual State Convention June 28th - July 1st, 2012

Purpose: To receive Department Officers’ annual reports, consider Department Constitution and By-Laws amendments, elect Department Officers and conduct any other business brought to the convention.  Only the Committees and Chairpersons listed below are called to officially participate in the Convention. 

Registration: Registration fee of $10 will be charged to all delegates, alternates and guests.

Department Exec. Cmte Meeting: Thursday June 28^th, 2012, 5:00 p.m.

Opening Session:  Friday June 29^th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.

Subsequent Convention Sessions:  Saturday, June 30^th, 2012, 9:00 a.m. & Sunday, July 1^st, 2012, 10:00 a.m

Called Department Committee Meetings: Thursday, June 28^th, 2012 (TBA – see schedule at www.michiganlegion.org)

Call Department Committee Chairmen: Representing Department Committees not called to convention:  Baseball, Boys State, Education & Scholarship, Leadership College, and National Security & Foreign Relations

Convention Cmte Meetings:  Friday June 29^th, 2012, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Convention Committees are comprised of one person per district. Each Delegation Chairman will name the members to serve on the Convention Committees and certify that list to the Department Adjutant ten (10) (June 18^th, 2012)days prior to the Department Convention. 

Americanism  & Community Service (includes Education & Scholarship, Boys State, Law and Order, Scouting) – Children & Youth, Constitution & Bylaws, Credentials, Economic, Finance, Legislative, Membership, National Security & Foreign Relations, Post Development, Public Relations, Reconnect, Rules, Veteran Affairs & Rehabilitation and VAVS/VHVS

District Caucuses:  Friday, June 29^th, 2012, 10  a.m. – 11 a.m.

Zone Caucuses: Friday, June 29^th, 2012, 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Joint Memorial Service: Sunday, July 1^st, 2012 8 a.m.

Elections & Adjournment:  Sunday July 1^st, 2012

The 2013 Department Executive Committee and the 2012 National Convention Delegates and Alternates will meet upon convention adjournment.
