Labor Day Weekend Event 2011

Labor Day parade

Clarkston holds its annual Labor Day Parade beginning at 10 a.m. Monday at Renaissance High School, 6558 Waldon Road, travels down Church Street, Main Street, Miller Road and ends at Holcomb Street. Karen Newman, who sings the national anthem for the Detroit Red Wings, will perform on Main Street between Church and Washington streets. The Clarkston Rotary Club sponsors the parade. The parade includes the Clarkston High School marching band, antique fire trucks, classic cars and gymnastic clubs. The Campbell-Richmond American Legion color guard will do a 21-gun salute.

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed. Veterans and current service members in the Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties now have more opportunities to file their claim or ask questions. Centrally located in the tri-county area at 212 N.
