NEW DOCUMENTARY FILM “ONE SOLDIER’S STORY”
HONORS SACRIFICE OF MONROE, MICH. SOLDIER FOR HIS COUNTRY
Seven-city film premiere tour supports Mikie’s Minutes charity developed in his honor
WIXOM, Mich., (July 13, 2011) – Sgt. Michael Ingram, Jr. returned home to Monroe, Mich. on a cold, rainy day to Selfridge Air National Guard Base, in a solemn ceremony, as Patriot Guard riders stood in salute of a fallen Michigan hero. Sgt. Ingram was killed in action (KIA) on April 17, 2010, while serving his country in Afghanistan.
His sacrifice will be honored with the support of seven Michigan venues, where filmmaker Keith Famie and Visionalist Entertainment Productions’ documentary film “One Soldier’s Story” will stop on their film premiere tour. The 70-minute film documents the story of Sgt. Ingram and his family. “One Soldier’s Story” will be shown at the following locations:
• Emagine Theatre (Novi), July 25, 2011 at 7 p.m.
• MJR Theatre (Brighton), August 3, 2011 at 7 p.m.
• Andiamo Showroom (Warren), August 7, 2011 at 6 p.m.
• Emagine Theatre (Rochester Hills), August 15, 2011 at 7 p.m.
• Uptown Theatre (Birmingham), September 13, 2011 at 7 p.m.
• Special “Coming Home” premiere at Monroe County Community College
(Monroe), September 26, 2011 at 7 p.m.
• Lansing premiere date to be determined
An emotional, yet inspiring story told by Sgt. Ingram’s father Michael Ingram, Sr. and MSG Jeff Rector, U.S. Army Reserve Casualty Assistance Coordinator, “OneSoldier’s Story” describes the bravery and fortitude of many of our military personnel serving overseas. The film portrays Sgt. Ingram’s decision to join the Army, the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country and the honors he received when his remains were returned home.
