On behalf of The American Legion Department of Michigan thank you Legionnaires for your continued support of our preferred provider the Legionnaire Insurance Trust products and services.  Our partnership has with this great company has provided the members in the State of Michigan a great product and in return the company supports our efforts to provide resources to continue our mission of serving veterans.  Something USAA services cannot do.

This past April LIT presented the department a check for $234,113 which is used for our Veteran Service Office.  Due to recent cuts in State of Michigan grant money to the VSO services, without this check we would be forced to eliminate the field service officers deployed in various locations throughout the state.

To our new Legionnaires, LIT was formed in 1966 to provide low cost insurance protection to our members. They insure, in one form or another, some 2 million Legionnaires in 48 participating Departments around the country. They are the PREFERRED Provider for the Department of Michigan.

(LANSING) - The Michigan American Legion now has an accredited Veteran service officer available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The American Legion Veteran service officer services all veterans and their families with filing claims to the Veterans Administration on the veteran's behalf or to check the status of a claim already filed. Veterans and current service members in the Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties now have more opportunities to file their claim or ask questions. Centrally located in the tri-county area at 212 N.
