Shift Supervisor

GMA is looking for up to three supervisors to support production.  Leadership, integrity and application of technical specifications are mandatory skills.  Must be able to drive subordinates, identify and resolve issues, and “think on their feet.” Ability to interface with all levels of the organization including technical personnel is required.  Strong preference will be given to those who are familiar with requirements for Department of Defense contracts and quality specifications. 

This job specifically will involve the supervision of contracts related to critical support equipment in support of our Warfighters.    Specific job details are provided below:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Managing and supervising a production shift to optimize cost and quality according to the weekly plan presented by the production manager including, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Supervising a shift of employees
  • Training employees
  • Motivating employees
  • Maintaining personnel procedures
  • Maintaining and improving production processes
  • Meeting production deadlines and efficiencies of manufactured product
  • Ensuring accurate completion and submission of daily hours worked by employees
  • Meeting or exceeding production standards and quality using established QA procedures
  • Establishing productivity and quality control systems
  • Identifying and reporting daily variances to production standards and quality specifications
  • Establish and maintain efficient communication with management, other supervisors, and employees
  • Ensure efficient flow of materials between departments to maximize productivity and to minimize in-process inventory
  • Maintain good housekeeping
  • Creating and promoting a team work environment

Maintenance Technician

GMA is looking for up to five Maintenance Technicians with the ability to learn and be responsive to the demands in a fast paced production environment.  Familiarity with computer controlled sewing equipment and attachment equipment is highly desirable.    Must possess the necessary skills and aptitude to learn quickly and adapt to multiple priorities in support of production needs and schedules.  Technical aptitude and ability to adjust to changing demands are required.  Travel may be required in support of training.  Ability to work all shifts is required.

Specific job details are provided below:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Maintenance activities including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Keeps electrical and mechanical equipment repaired and functioning to support production efforts
  • Performance duties and functions related to maintenance, preventative maintenance and support of production where required
  • Supports production facility layout, update and facility maintenance
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensures all efforts are conducted in a manner and that ensures the safety of the individual and results in a safe working environment
  • Compliance to all company policies and procedures
  • Nothing in this job description restricts supervision’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time

Production Associate Positions

All Production Associates must be able to work as part of a team with the goal of meeting schedules and providing the highest quality product.  Performance incentive program in addition to competitive salary and benefit package is provided.  GMA is looking for individuals who can produce and focus on achieving the goals established for the organization. 

Parachute Packers/Riggers:

GMA is looking for several individuals with experience in the packing and rigging of parachutes.  Job will require the necessary capabilities to support the production and pack out of cargo parachutes.  Job will require the individual pass qualification testing and certification by US Army personnel.  Experience in packing and rigging parachutes is highly desired.



Assembly Associates:

GMA is looking for several individuals who have the capability and aptitude to produce mission critical hardware.  Ability to read and understand work instructions and communicate with supervision and co-workers is required.  Skills testing will be required, and training will be offered.  Self-starters who are not intimidated by learning new skills are strongly preferred. 

General description of both the Parachute Packer/Rigger and Associate positions is provided below:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Conducting manufacturing operations in support of organizational commitments from a cost, schedule and quality standpoint.  Shift work and demonstration of skill sets will be required.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:
  • Assembly of products in accordance with work instructions, process parameters and quality initiatives to satisfy the requirements of the customer
  • These activities include:  sewing, bar tacking, binding, stitching, heat sealing, cutting, assembly and packing
  • Painting, stenciling, marking
  • Using air operated tools
  • Using computer controlled tools
  • Minor maintenance actions
  • Inspection processes including quality measurement
  • Completing paperwork including logs, time sheets, QA/QC control sheets
  • Housekeeping
  • Contributing to continuous improvement efforts
  • Working in and promoting team environment

Qualifications:
  • Physical capability to perform work assigned
  • Experience in working around automated equipment
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to take and follow direction
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions
  • Willingness to try and learn new skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent
