"Sunday, August 13, 2017" At 1:10 pm. Come celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the end of WWII with The Detroit Tigers and The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial as the Detroit Tigers host the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park. "Saturday, July 15, 2017" The Village Theater, 50400 Cherry Hill Rd, Canton, is having an evening with Kris "Tanto" Paronto, Hero, Veteran, Author, Speaker, & US Army Ranger. "Thursday, July 20, 2017" The National Veteran Business Development Council is holding a seminar with the Federal Reserve Bank, 1600 E Warren Detroit, from 8 till 3:30PM, on how to do business with this bank. Fee is $25 and includes lunch. For more info see flyer.
"Thursday, July 20, 2017" The Veterans Committee of the 14th District is hosting a Veteran Forum at the Wayne County Community College, 5901 Harper, Detroit, from 5 till 7PM. Get your questions answered regarding benefits, employment, housing, etc. For more info call Danny at 313-861-2008.
"Saturday, July 22, 2017" The annual Boats-4-Vets takes place at the Idle Hour Yacht Club where vets & their family get free rides out to Harsens Island. This is really a great event. Starts at 9AM at the club. For complete info call Forest at 810-512-4660 or see flyer.
"Friday, Saturday, Sunday, July 21, 22, 23 2017" The first annual VetStock will start 3PM Friday & end at 12PM Sunday. Three days of music, food, fun. $30 donation requested. Located at 10520 Losco Rd, Fowlerville. For complete info see flyer.
"Saturday, July 22, 2017" Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 154 is hosting their annual golf outing at Fernhill Golf Course, 17600 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Twp, with an 8AM registration, 9AM shotgun start. $80 per golfer, includes 18 holes, cart, breakfast, lunch, dinner. "Saturday, July 22, 2017" Wayne State University Student Veterans will host their 7th annual Golfing For Veterans golf outing at the Links of Novi, 50395 W 10 Mile, Novi, with a 1:30PM shotgun start. Includes lunch & dinner. For more info see flyer.
"Saturday, July 22, 2017" Operation Yellow Ribbon is hosting a Poker Run Fun-Raiser at DAV Post 129, 47326 Dequindre, Shelby Twp, starting at Noon. Fun for the whole family, cost $15 per person, 4 person teams. For more info call Ann at 248-425-2722 or see flyer.

"Calling all Marines! (UPDATE)" Marine week is coming to downtown Detroit the week of September 6th. The Marine Corps is looking for Marines of all generations to help with the event. Fisher House - Detroit" (Update) The building of a Fisher House near the Detroit VA Hospital is proceeding. (A Fisher House is where relatives of a vet receiving treatment can stay while the vet is in the hospital - sort of a Ronald McDonald house for vets.) "Friday, August 18, 2017" The Metro Airport Freedom Center, which has hosted over 300,000 guests since opening in 2011, is hosting a golf outing at the Selfridge Golf Course, Hall Rd, Harrison Twp, with an 8AM registration, best ball scramble starting at 9:30. Cost is $100 per person ($380 foursome), lunch & Deli Sandwich Bar. Watch the Thunderbirds practice while you golf. Sponsors are wanted as well as golfers!
